Down under
My first post from down under... Its been quite some time since my last post... let me just summarize everything as briefly as possible...
I got here on the 6th on Feb, settled in real quick. Everything so far has met my expectations. Tons of friendly people about. The beaches here are awesome. The bacon! The Carltons! The milk products! Oh and the friendly neighborhood quenders (i think thats how its spelt)... under CLV's management, campus looks to be on the up... today a communal lounge is scheduled to open... and soon there is going to be a pool... I'm hoping its soon enough for me to enjoy the pool...
I'm staying with 4 other people. 1 german guy, 1 aussie guy, 1 singaporean girl and 1 american girl. We get a long pretty well; we're all pretty much laid back, lazy and messy. The only sucky thing about campus life is fortnightly flat inspections. We have to clean the place up or get fined. We passed the first inspection though; everyone cleaned up the place in 30mins. 30mins after the flat inspection, it was dirty again. The hassle, the hassle.
Class' seem to be moving faster than usual; projects which are normally due in week 5 are suddenly due in week 3. Size wise, its approx 200-250ppl per class which means i don't know anyone in my class properly. No complains however, I'm too lazy to mix with randoms in class anyway. Random neighbors however is a dif story, since I'll be seeing them for some time. I'm in acacia courtyard... a lot of nice ppl live here... for e.g. me. Didn't expect many Canadians or Europeans to live here, but there seems to be quite a healthy community of em. Tons of Singaporeans too. However the largest nationality group would go to the Americans & the Malaysians.
And that is all for now, my next post will contain less meaningless info. I'll leave you guys with some random pics.
