save the cheerleader save the world

As it is the holiday season and all my regular shows are on break till mid January or so, I've had a lot of time on my hands to look up new shows to watch. So the first thing i decided to explore was heroes. A new series which is basically about how ordinary people suddenly discover they have certain abilities. Some fly, others have leech like powers... and the list continues. Anyhow this post is dedicated to Heroes which in my opinion seems to be a pretty good show. Firstly they have a pretty good assembly of stars. The indian guy has a cool, mysterious quality to his voice which adds to the feel of the movie. The japanese guy... Hiro naka sumtin the other just makes you smile. Peter Petrelli somehow reminds us of either ourselves or someone we know. And then theres Niki and her alter-ego Jessica who keeps you wondering what they are going to get up to. And also whether they are a part of the "supers" or just human damage. Last but not least on my list of notable characters, is Claire Bennet who seems to be the cornerstone of the series. Or so it seems anyway... with the recurring phrase "save the cheerleader save the world". Her character in the movie seems to be the best developed and also the most wrapped up in issues. Girl next door come basically immortal super. Certain improvements however could have been made in the show. For starters they introduced too many characters too quickly. And then they have likable characters dying too quickly. If you're going to kill em off.. let us fall in love with them for sometime first... (e.g. the diner girl)... they shouldn't reveal so much of the story soo quickly, take a page out of battlestar galactica.. they just chucked you right in the middle of a war and made you guess what happened until almost season 2. Next Sylar needs a better costume.. and needs to be maintained as unstoppable... They also shouldn’t have shown the making of Sylar so early in the show.. as well as portraying him is such a humanly light...

Ok and now some stills from the show... Everyone's fav japanese guy
Everyone's fav cheerleader
My fav pic yet...

"It is often easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission." - Grace Murray Hopper

"People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain." - Jim Morrison
